Under the heading "Other sections" we group the equipment that is of interest to our visitors but still has not established itself to form a separate bigger section of the Exhibition (like heating and water supply) or does not fall easily into one of the strictly defined categories of our classification (e.g. warm curtains are not heaters but an energy-saving devices).

Water heaters

Water heaters are devices for heating water for domestic use. Two types of water heaters are best-known flow heaters and storage heaters. In flow heaters the water gets heated while it passes by heat-transfer elements (electric heating elements, copper pipes, plate heat exchangers). In storage heaters the water is heated in a bigger tank and supplied to a user. The main advantage of storage heaters is comfort as you can store a significant amount of hot water, while flow heaters take very little space.

Compressors

Compressor is a heart of a refrigerating unit. As a heart it can malfunction because of natural flow of time, birth (production) defects, maltreatment (installation, maintenance), overstrains or other reasons. That is why compressors are in high demand on spare-parts market. As a rule, compressors are interchangeable. Compressors of the same manufacturers are used in air conditioners and refrigerating units of different brands. Moreover, if the choice was right in the first place, even compressors of different brands can be interchangeable. There are numerous types of compressors as far as their design and fields of application are concerned. They can be rotary, spiral, and rotary screw, hermetic, semi-hermetic and so on.

Boilers

Electric, gas, solid fuel boilers they are all necessary not only for heating and hot-water supply of country houses and villas, they are used more often in high-rise buildings and old housing.

Pumps

Pumps for water supply, for sewage evacuation, for corrosive substances are not yet a separate section of our Exhibition. They rather belong to the “Aquaterm” exhibition. We are interested in other types of pumps: pumps for hydraulic circuits of chillers and pumps for hot-water circulation in heating systems as well as drain pumps for condensate in indoor and outdoor blocks of air conditioners.

Heated tower rails

It is hard to imagine something more unpleasant than finding yourself in a damp and cold bathroom after a hot shower and truing to dry your body with a cold towel. Heated towel rails are in principle much the same as usual radiators. Their main types are water-heated, electric-heated and combined-heating rails. Manufacturers pay much attention to the design of tower rails, to some additional gadgets enhancing comfort and to the reliability of their produce.

Water-heating radiators and convectors

Traditional radiators, convectors and panel radiators are used for heating modern housing, country houses and villas. When choosing a type of heating equipment the following factors should be taken into consideration:
  • The needed heating power that depends on the floor area, ceiling height, properties of walls and whether they are internal or external and on many other characteristics of the project.
  • Heating-system pressure. Wrong pressure can mean flooding your flat and those of your neighbours.
  • Radiator design (since it will stay visible).
  • Heating equipment type and its material, since heat transfer, corrosion resistance, reliability and price depend on them.
  • The manufacturer of the equipment.

Heat curtains

Heat curtain is an oblong heat ventilator that produces a flat and strong flow of air. Heat curtains are used for separating different temperature zones on both sides of work-window apertures, entrance doors and gates. Heat curtains are the only possibility to have the aperture open and at the same time avoid outflow of warm air from indoors and penetration of cold outdoor air indoors. There are many different types of heat curtains depending on:
  • Heating source or its absence (water-heated, electric, or “cold” curtains, without heating);
  • Height or kind of the aperture (compare heat curtains for windows, standard doors, garage gates and so on),
  • Mounting way (horizontal, vertical).
Nowadays the Russian market of heat curtains is fast developing thanks to home producers of equipment. The most discussed issues on the market are the choice of a proper heat curtain for a project and use of industrial plastics in heat curtain production.

Heat pumps

Heat pumps are used for economical heating and cooling of rooms of any volume. The principle of their work is similar to that of the usual heat pump of an air conditioner: the temperature difference in the heat exchanger and outdoors allows to take energy from outdoor air and transfer it indoors even when the outdoor temperature is a bit below zero. The distinction is that heat pump units can take heat not only from air but also from ground, water and the sun. Constant temperature of the source is desirable. The main advantage of heat pumps is their high overall efficiency (over 300%) and ecology friendliness (they use ecologically safe freons). Heat pumps are used in the areas with mild winters or with geothermal sources (for example, in Kaliningrad and Vladivostok with their geothermal sources). Heat pumps in the USA, Japan and Europe number in tens of millions.

Heated slab

Heating with the use of heated slab is becoming growingly popular. In a room with a usual floor the warmer air goes up and is substituted with colder air. The heated slab, while the source of warmth is right beneath your feet, creates the feeling of maximum comfort. The temperature of heated floor is not high (not higher than 25° C) and it is not normally used as the main source of heating, but as the means of providing additional comfort.
