Cooling boxes
Searching information about participants:
These pieces of professional cooling equipment are united by the
common principle of functioning and their use for storing perishable
goods – foodstuffs, wines (from +5°C to +18°C) and soft
drinks (from - 1°C to +10°C), flowers (from +2°C to
+10°C), medicinal preparations and so on.
When choosing between different types of equipment you have to
take into consideration the following factors:
- Purpose of the equipment (storing only, storing
plus demonstration and sale of the goods).
- The specifics of the placement of the equipment
(outdoors, in a projected room, in an existing room and so on).
- The temperature to be maintained.
- The needed volume.
- Colour and design.
- Number of shelves and their position.
- And many others.
Cold rooms and freezer rooms
 |
| Cold
and freezer rooms by their purpose, construction and
rules of use are similar to usual stationary refrigerators.
The range of their use is very wide from smaller enterprises
to huge warehouse complexes demanding special storing
conditions. They are used for storing in warehouses
of stores stocks of perishable foodstuffs during shorter
periods of time not longer than 3-5 days. They can
be stationary (they are designed and built together
with the main building) and assembled (for new or existing
trading enterprises). |

Cooling boxes
 |
Cooling
boxes are used for storing, demonstration and sales
of perishable goods in sufficiently big amounts. They
have three storage modes:
- At plus temperatures,
- At medium temperatures (from 0°C
to 8°C)
- At low temperatures (from -12°C to
-22°C)
They differ by the place they are used (selling space,
backrooms), by cooling method (with natural of forced
cold air circulation), by position of condenser-compressor
unit (upper and lower position), by position of cooling
unit (built in or separately placed), by useful volume,
by material, by number of shelves and other characteristics. |

Refrigerating counters
 |
Refrigerating
counters are used for short time storing and demonstration
of packaged and packed cooled and frozen foodstuffs
prior to their sale. They can be of two types:
- Closed type (blind) counters used
for storing current stock of perishable foodstuffs
at shop assistant's working place.
- With transparent doors for storing,
demonstration and sale of packaged perishables. Such
counters can be used both at shop assistant's working
place and in selling space.
The storage modes are the same as with cooling boxes.
They can be with a built-in refrigerating unit or have
it separately mounted or connected to a central refrigerating
unit. |
|
Cooling bins
 |
They
are used for storing frozen foodstuffs and ice cream
or for cooling drinks. At the same time they serve
for demonstrating offered goods. The lid of the bin
can be used as a working table. Cooling bins are 2-3
times cheaper than cooling boxes or refrigerating counters
that is why they are widely spread. The main users of cooling bins are:
- Stores, mini-markets, and stalls,
selling some goods outdoors in warm seasons;
- Retail delivery traders;
- Traders at wholesale markets selling
goods from containers.
By temperature ranges cooling bins are divided into
two types: freezers (from -8°C to -24°C) and
coolers (from 8°C to 22°C). The normal functioning
of them is possible at environment temperatures up
to 25-28°C and humidity up to 60%. Their capacity
is from 120 to 600 litres. Street vendors usually use
smaller bins (250-300 litres, and more seldom 120-150
litres). |

Refrigerating showcases
 |
They
are used for demonstration, storing and sale of goods.
They work in three modes (at plus temperatures, at
medium temperatures and at low temperatures). When
placed in selling spaces of self-service shops they
must be open to allow access for customers. They differ
by:
- Temperature range.
- Construction features (closed – for
shop assistant's working place, open – for selling
space, standing separately or mounted in a line).
- Access: island (accessible from all
sides), along a wall (accessible from one side only).
- Cold air circulation (natural and
forced one).
- Placement of refrigerating unit (built
in, mounted separately, connected to central system
of refrigeration) and by other characteristics.
Refrigerating showcases are the most popular refrigeration
equipment in Russia (especially those in medium temperature
range). |
