According to Montreal Protocol, the consumption of ozone-depleting coolants including R22 in Russia is to be decreased by 75% by 2010, and by 90% by 2015 as compared to the level of 1989. AHI Carrier, general supplier of Toshiba and Carrier air-conditioners, transfers completely from 2010 to the use of environment-friendly R410A coolant.
One of the most popular series of semi-industrial equipment made by Carrier are low-power compression-condensation units. As compared to the previous year, Toshiba has increased significantly the range of household units using R410A. The series of inverter split-systems SKV and SKVR now include models of up to 6 kW of power. Standard split-systems SKHP-ES changed their design to the more modern, while new multi-split-systems by Toshiba allow connecting up to 5 indoor units.
There are new products in the semi-industrial segment as well: high-pressure duct conditioners Toshiba of 14-16 kW power and air flow 3300 m3/h, and powerful cassette units. Unique outdoor units Digital Inverter with the capacity of 20 and 23 kW allow laying of the duct of up to 70 meters and connecting up to 4 indoor units of any type.
There started the delivery of Toshiba’s new wall-mount units for VRF systems, which have improved design and the dimensions and weight of which compare favorably to the old models; also, there started delivery of new splitters for VRF systems.
At the end of 2009, Toshiba presented an improved proprietary program for VRF system design; the program has interface in Russian and allows selecting new units.

At the end of 2009, Alfa Laval company started manufacturing new plate heat exchanger for HVAC systems – TL15 B designed for systems with high heat transfer coefficient of hot and cold circuits.
In February, 2010, the family of sectional plate heat exchangers of Alfa Laval will be extended with a new device – TL10 P which uses P-type plates that provide lower hydraulic resistance.
TL10 P can be used for most tasks of air conditioning and ventilation, but is most suitable for the application as an intermediary heat exchanger as well as for natural cooling in systems with heat pumps.
The heat exchanger can operate under high pressures (up to 25 bars) and temperatures (up to 180°C) and meets requirements for high-pressure vessels according to PED, ASME, pvcALSTM, and GOST.
Just like for other plate heat exchangers by Alfa Laval, 3D computer models have been developed for TL10 P that can be imported in 3D design programs such as AutoCAD, MagiCAD, etc.

In February, 2010, Dantex Industries Ltd. (Great Britain) is to present at the Russian market its widened model line of commercial HVAC equipment.
Wall-mounted fan coils by Dantex, having cooling capacity of 2.2 to 4.5 kW, feature small dimensions and low noise level. The scope of supply includes three-way valve and IR remote control. To start the operation it is necessary to connect water supply and drainage only.

The digital indicator on the panel displays the unit’s operation parameters. The in-built pump discharges the condensate to the height of up to 750 mm. Floor and wall-mounted fan coils having cooling capacity of 1.15 to 7.85 kW feature stylish and elegant design, low noise level, simple installation, and convenience of maintenance. The units are delivered completed with an air filter, three-way valve, and connection kit.
Modular chillers Dantex with air cooling of the condenser are available in nine standard sizes with capacity ranging from 25 to 600 kW and can be connected in a single systems with overall power up to 2800 kW. Household electric tank heaters ÝÂÁÊ-17 (17 liters / 1.25 kW) ÝÂÁÊ-40 (40 liters / 1.5 kW) can be used in locations with no water piping, for example, in country houses. The water heater consists of a plastic tank with stainless-steel tubular electric heater mounted in the lower part of the tank. IR electric heaters ÝÈÓ
Three models of IR heaters ÝÈÓ of 0.75, 1, and 1.5 kW are intended for heating residential, industrial, and utility rooms. The heater consists of a base with a reflector installed on it, tubular electric heaters with anti-corrosion coating, and a casing with openings for air flow. The direction of air flow is adjusted using brackets.
The heaters are fixed on the ceiling or they can be installed on a wall not lower than 1.8 m from the floor; IR-radiation heats the floor, walls, and objects in the room, which, in their turn, give the heat off to the air.
Tubular electric heaters of 6.5 mm diameter
Tubular electric heaters having the diameter of 6.5 mm are a standard element of energy-efficient European devices. Even most famous manufacturers of tubular electric heaters from Russia and CIS states do not have facilities for mass production of tubular electric heaters of this diameter. The minimum available diameter of production of these manufacturers is 7.4 or 8 mm.
6.5 mm tubular electric heaters allow decreasing metal consumption and minimizing the amounts of electric heating powder – periclase. At that, the flexibility of TEHs increases allowing making electric heaters of most sophisticated configuration with less technical efforts.
Most often, 6.5-mm TEHs are used in heatproof oven cases, but can also be used in other electric devices. For instance, Delsot company uses them for completing above household heat fans TURBO and water heaters “For a country house”.

Carel company presents a series of valves and drives for automated system EXV sistema used for controlling cooling units having power from 1 to 2000 kW. Drivers for controllers of EVD Evolution now have new functions including the new version of TWIN function that makes it possible to control two valves using one 4 DIN standard module. This is a very efficient and compact solution for overheating control in double-circuit units. Among other improvements of the driver are: overheating control algorithm for units with Digital Scroll® compressors, auto-tuning, and accumulator module with minimum charge alarm.

The system can be used for controlling “water – water” and “air – water” units, operation in heating and cooling modes, water heating for household needs. Carel’s solution based on Modbus® centralization protocol makes it possible to integrate the household hot water supply control with solar water heaters and can control up to six rooms with two calendar modes as well as control humidifying, drying, and air inflow functions.
The model range of electronic TEVs by Carel was supplemented by a new standard size: E7V. The design of the valve is based on the previous model, E6V, however, E7V can control a unit having cooling capacity of up to 1750 kW, which makes it the most powerful TVE at the market.

Tadel company presents to the Russian market new equipment by Ferroli company which finished in 2009 the transition of its chillers to the use of R410A coolant. At Climate World-2010 Expo, Tadel will demonstrate new chillers and heat pumps Ferroli RGA 50-200 (53 – 198 kW), RGC 50 – 200 (with centrifugal fans for indoor installation) as well as compression-condensation units RGA VMB 50 – 200 (with axial fans) and RGC VMB 50 – 200 (with centrifugal fans).
Compression-condensation units by Ferroli can be delivered in heat pump version with a standard plate evaporator and liquid circuit fittings (TEV, solenoid valve, and dryer filter) which actually makes those chillers with a remote evaporator. And this is a new class of equipment, which operation does not require filling the system with ethylene-glycol solution.
Chillers can be completed with in-built hydraulic module with one or two water pumps and accumulator tank of up to 460 l. There also is a special version for heat medium cooling down to minus 8°C, low-noise and extra low-noise version.
Besides, even now new models RLA 160-420 (155 – 401 kW) and RHA 350-630 (351 – 652 kW) with high-power R410A scroll compressors can be ordered. The new chillers are not only more compact and efficient but also less expensive than the old models.

Testo 550 is equipped with strong two-way block valve with three sockets. Extra strong casing provides shock protection. During measuring, the manifold is fixed securely using the sling hook. The display with backlight allows controlling measured values in any situation – even when lighting in the premise is insufficient.
