Multi-purpose extraction unit BXC

French company Aereco presents a series of multi-purpose extraction ventilation units BXC. Their fixing damper makes it possible to set the required air flow or to compensate the insufficient draught in extraction ducts. Air-tight fixing damper allows measuring and calculation of air flow which facilitates putting the unit into operation.

Convenience of the use of the unit for automatic control of air flow is ensured by hydraulically controlled system and presence sensor. Switching to the peak air flow is noiseless. The design of the front cover makes it possible to integrate the unit in any interior.

Hydraulically controlled supply unit EHA2

The distinctive feature of the supply unit EHA2 manufactured by French company Aereco is hygro-control system that controls air flow depending on the humidity. Besides, it is also possible to set required air flow manually using the regulator.

The device is compact, of modern design and matches most standard windows and roller blinds perfectly.

In combination with the acoustic insert and outdoor diverter, EHA2 ensures maximum protection from outdoor noise. Fresh air is supplied in the form of inclined flow right under the ceiling which prevents any draughts from occurring. Once installed, the unit requires no additional servicing or adjustment – all the user needs to do is to wipe dust off the unit once a year.

AHI Carrier switches completely to R410A

According to Montreal Protocol, the consumption of ozone-depleting coolants including R22 in Russia is to be decreased by 75% by 2010, and by 90% by 2015 as compared to the level of 1989. AHI Carrier, general supplier of Toshiba and Carrier air-conditioners, transfers completely from 2010 to the use of environment-friendly R410A coolant.

One of the most popular series of semi-industrial equipment made by Carrier are low-power compression-condensation units. Starting from 2010, new units of 38 SKE (cooling only) and 38 EYX (heat pump) having power from 7 to 17 kW and using R410A will be supplied to Russia. These units replace the popular series of Carrier 38 YCC/CKC units that use R22.

The units are capable of cooling when the ambient air temperature is as low as minus 28°C, and of heating at ambient air temperature down to minus 34°C. Original construction of the body from sheet metal with anti-corrosion coating ensures corrosion protection, high efficiency and attractive appearance. Outdoor units 38 CKE and 38 EYX are designed for several types of installation: on the wall on brackets, on the ground or on the roof of the building. The units are very compact: the dimensions of the most powerful unit having power of 17 kW are only 1 x 0.7 x 0.7 m. New compression-condensation units Carrier using 410A are used in combination with duct indoor units or with supply units. The length of air-duct may reach 50 m. Compression-condensation units Carrier 38 CKE and 38 EYX are manufactured in USA.

Toshiba’s specialties at the stands of Climate World Expo 2010 participants

As compared to the previous year, Toshiba has increased significantly the range of household units using R410A. The series of inverter split-systems SKV and SKVR now include models of up to 6 kW of power. Standard split-systems SKHP-ES changed their design to the more modern, while new multi-split-systems by Toshiba allow connecting up to 5 indoor units.

There are new products in the semi-industrial segment as well: high-pressure duct conditioners Toshiba of 14-16 kW power and air flow 3300 m3/h, and powerful cassette units. Unique outdoor units Digital Inverter with the capacity of 20 and 23 kW allow laying of the duct of up to 70 meters and connecting up to 4 indoor units of any type.

There started the delivery of Toshiba’s new wall-mount units for VRF systems, which have improved design and the dimensions and weight of which compare favorably to the old models; also, there started delivery of new splitters for VRF systems.

At the end of 2009, Toshiba presented an improved proprietary program for VRF system design; the program has interface in Russian and allows selecting new units.

New sectional plate heat exchangers

At the end of 2009, Alfa Laval company started manufacturing new plate heat exchanger for HVAC systems – TL15 B designed for systems with high heat transfer coefficient of hot and cold circuits.

In February, 2010, the family of sectional plate heat exchangers of Alfa Laval will be extended with a new device – TL10 P which uses P-type plates that provide lower hydraulic resistance.

TL10 P can be used for most tasks of air conditioning and ventilation, but is most suitable for the application as an intermediary heat exchanger as well as for natural cooling in systems with heat pumps.

The heat exchanger can operate under high pressures (up to 25 bars) and temperatures (up to 180°C) and meets requirements for high-pressure vessels according to PED, ASME, pvcALSTM, and GOST.

Just like for other plate heat exchangers by Alfa Laval, 3D computer models have been developed for TL10 P that can be imported in 3D design programs such as AutoCAD, MagiCAD, etc.

Specialties of Dantex company

In February, 2010, Dantex Industries Ltd. (Great Britain) is to present at the Russian market its widened model line of commercial HVAC equipment.

Wall-mounted fan coils by Dantex, having cooling capacity of 2.2 to 4.5 kW, feature small dimensions and low noise level. The scope of supply includes three-way valve and IR remote control. To start the operation it is necessary to connect water supply and drainage only.

Duct medium-pressure (air pressure up to 50 Pa, cooling capacity from 2.2 to 12.1 kW) and high-pressure fan coils (air pressure up to 100 Pa, cooling capacity from 6.5 to 19.9 kW) have three-row heat exchanger and centrifugal fan. The units can also be supplied with three-way valve, connection kit, air duct, and filter.

Cassette four-way fan coils having cooling capacity from 4.49 to 12.87 kW, are available in two designs: compact and standard body (600 x 600 mm and 840 x 840 mm, correspondingly). The digital indicator on the panel displays the unit’s operation parameters. The in-built pump discharges the condensate to the height of up to 750 mm. The scope of supply includes IR remote control, three-way valve, connection kit, and air filter.

Floor and wall-mounted fan coils having cooling capacity of 1.15 to 7.85 kW feature stylish and elegant design, low noise level, simple installation, and convenience of maintenance. The units are delivered completed with an air filter, three-way valve, and connection kit.

Modular chillers Dantex with air cooling of the condenser are available in nine standard sizes with capacity ranging from 25 to 600 kW and can be connected in a single systems with overall power up to 2800 kW. The modular design provides great advantages in transportation, installation, operation, technical and service maintenance.

Among specialties of Dantex are mini-chillers and air-cooling mini-split-systems with in-built hydraulic module with the capacity ranging from 5 to 16 kW.

R22 based air cooling compression-condensation units are available in seven standard sizes with the capacity ranging from 7 to 45 kW. For the convenience of installation and decreasing integration terms the units are delivered together with cooling circuit fittings (filter driers, TEV, solenoid valve, sight glass). Maximum length of coolant hose may reach 50 m, elevation drop between the unit and the fan unit cooling section may reach up to 30 m.

Monoblock roof-tops are intended for outdoor installation on roofs, balconies, terraces or on the ground. These autonomous units are used for air conditioning in building with large-volume premises – at warehouses, trading, sports, administrative and industrial complexes. Capacity range of the air-conditioners varies from 7.7 to 87 kW.

Compact supply and extract ventilation units with heat recovery may be used in any premises where efficient air change is required. The application of high-efficiency plate heat recovery unit allows decreasing expenses for maintaining comfortable temperature and humidity in premises. The in-built automation system and hard-wired controlled make the operation of these units simple and convenient. Supply and extract units Dantex are available in eight standard sizes the air flow of which varies from 200 to 2000 m3/h.

New-generation electric fireplaces Dimplex

Belaya Gvardia (White Guard) Trading House, the exclusive distributor of Dimplex electric fireplaces, presented at the end of January, 2010, a new model – electric fireplace Dimplex Albany.

Roof-tops CF GAS Tecnoclima

Ventcor company offers a series of monoblock units (roof-tops) of CF GAS series manufactured by Tecnoclima (Italy).

Engineers of Tecnoclima have developed 8 standard models of these autonomous and fully automated units with cooling and heating capacity ranging from 30 to 3000 kW, air flow from 3000 to 30000 m3/h and head of up to 1000 Pa. CF GAS roof-tops are tailored for CIS market and can operated in the range of ambient air temperatures from minus 50 to plus 45°C.

Environmentally safe coolant R407C is used in cooling circuits of screw-type compressors. The advanced technology DRY ensures air heating with the efficiency rate exceeding 90% due to the use of stainless steel heat exchanger with the burner firing natural or liquefied gas.

Besides, CF GAS provides the opportunity of air change mode programming on the basis of data input into the computer.

Single unit ventilation units CAIB Soler&Palau

The ventilation equipment range of Ventcor company has been widened with the single-unit ventilation units with in-built control system of CAIB series manufactured by Soler&Palau (Spain). The model range is represented by units of four standard sizes and nominal air flow rate varying from 1000 to 3500 m3/h. The units are intended for residential, administrative and industrial premises. Their compact design makes it possible to install those units in the confined spaces of utility rooms or over the false ceilings.

The units include class G4 filter, electric or water air heater, water air cooler and double-speed fan. All the components are installed inside the galvanized steel casing with heat and noise insulation 50 mm thick.

The monoblocks can be completed with control system including Cyrillic electronic controller, temperature sensor and differential pressure relay. If necessary, the ventilation units can be supplied without control systems in which case all internal connections will be made at the factory and wired to the terminal box on the body.

Aerotek chillers

The model range of high-power Aerotek chillers was added by ALSBLG units having the capacity of 250 – 700 kW and intended for outdoor installation. The chillers are equipped with shell-and-tube heat exchangers of evaporators, screw compressors manufactured by Hanibell company (Malaysia) or Bitzer (Germany). Models designed for R22 or R134a are available.

The automatic control system includes the controller and control panel with LCD display. Intuitive interface makes it possible for the user to navigate the menu easily, to control the parameters of the system, check the log of emergency situations and perform many other operations.

An important feature of ALSBLG series chillers is their modular design.

The standard scope of supply includes the supply voltage wrong phase connection relay, lock valves on high- and low sides of the compressor, manometers on high and low pressure lines, rubber vibration damping supports, compressor and fan overload relays.

GEA’s specialties

GEA Klimatechnik GmbH&Co KG company will present a number of interesting specialties at Climate World 2010 Expo.

First is the series of compact air conditioners GEA Denco including eight models of four standard sizes and with nominal power ranging from 22 to 100 kW. The air conditioners will be available in following versions: X – split-system with compression-condensation unit; A – a system with in-built compressor (compressor) and a separate direct air-cooled condenser DCRA; W – a system with in-built compressor (compressors) and direct water-cooled condenser; F – Ambicool system (natural cooling); C – a system using cooled water.

The second specialty is GEA Fricostar CAM/CWR unit which makes it possible not only to dry the air in basin room, but also to provide comfortable air conditioning. GREE modular chillers

In the upcoming season, GREE is going to offer to the Russian consumers the improved modular chillers LSQW (R) F/C with scroll compressors and air-cooled condensers. C series chillers operate on R22, R407C, and R410A coolants. The model range includes in total four models with cooling capacity ranging from 60 to 152 kW and heat capacity from 65 to 160 kW.

In C series chillers, innovative construction solutions have been used. Now it is possible to install the units side-by-side thus decreasing significantly the area occupied by the units. The common control system allows controlling a group of 8 chillers. The aggregate cooling capacity of the system may reach 1216 kW.

Electronic control valve increases the reliability and efficiency at partial load. C series chillers are designed for operation at ambient air temperature ranging from +5 to 46°C, and when operated in heat pump mode – from minus 15 to plus 24°C.

Moreover, GREE chillers control systems may be integrated in the common building centralization systems using Modbus protocol. The improved self-diagnostics procedure makes installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the equipment significantly easier.

The units are supplied factory-filled and completely ready for installation and operation.

GREE precision air-conditioners

GREE company intends to supply to the Russian market its modular precision air-conditioners GREE having cooling capacity from 5 to 40 kW (8-unit system aggregate cooling capacity constituting up to 200 kW).

VRF system HOME-GMV with water heating

In 2010, Russian consumers will be offered the whole range of VRF systems by GREE including GMV-Rm, GMV-Pdhm, and DC-inverter systems with water heating HOME-GMV which deserves a separate overview.

The consumer is offered outdoor units with cooling capacity from 10 to 16 kW as well as wall-mounted (2.2 – 8.0 kW), floor-to-ceiling (2.8 – 12.5 kW), duct (2.2 – 14.0 kW) and cassette (2.2 – 14.0 kW) indoor units.

The know-how used in HOME-GMV system is water heating function. For this, hydraulic module with freon heat exchanger and storage container 250 to 400 liters in volume are connected to the system.

The VRF system HOME-GMV features high energy efficiency, its EER when operated in the mode of air cooling with simultaneous water heating equals to 6.6! The system operates efficiently at ambient air temperature ranging from minus 15°C to plus 48°C. In order to increase the heating efficiency at low ambient air temperatures an additional electric heater is used.

Semi-industrial air-conditioners U-Match with standardized outdoor unit

Starting from 201, GREE company will be delivering to the Russian market a new series of semi-industrial air-conditioners – U-Match. It includes cassette, duct, and floor-to-ceiling indoor units with a standardized outdoor unit. The model line includes units with the capacity from 2.6 to 16 kW.

The special feature of U-Match series is the long duct that may reach 50 m, allowing for height drop of up to 30 meters.

GREE split-systems

The line of household air-conditioners by GREE, there are several novelties: Bee series in the economy class, Cozy series in the medium price range, and Change series in the lux segment. All these models have a new easily removable casing of the indoor unit; the models of different segments differ in the set of functions only.

Special attention should be paid to air-conditioners of Change series that have DC-inverter compressor of new generation: it operates on R410A. These units are A energy efficiency class and have low noise level – 24 dB (A).

Specialties of electric heating equipment by Delsot

Russian manufacturer of tubular electric heaters, water heaters and heaters, CJSC “Delsot” presents its specialties:

Electric tank electric water heaters “For a country house” ÝÂÁÊ.

Household electric tank heaters ÝÂÁÊ-17 (17 liters / 1.25 kW) ÝÂÁÊ-40 (40 liters / 1.5 kW) can be used in locations with no water piping, for example, in country houses. The water heater consists of a plastic tank with stainless-steel tubular electric heater mounted in the lower part of the tank. The device is controlled using electric unit with temperature regulator.

Water heaters having the volume of 17 liters are equipped with a tap for washing hands and dishes, devices having the volume of 40 liters are equipped kitchen water outlets and shower spray.

Household heat fans “TURBO” ÊÝÂ (electric fan heaters)

The series of household heat fans – electric fan heaters in a rectangular casing – includes five models: 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, and 3.5 kW.

Heat fan operation mode is set using button switches, the thermostat adjusts the temperature automatically and ensures efficient energy consumption. Tubular electric heaters of household heat fans have high heat flow and long service life. High-efficiency multi-blade ventilation device ensures fast and even warm air distribution.

IR electric heaters ÝÈÓ

Three models of IR heaters ÝÈÓ of 0.75, 1, and 1.5 kW are intended for heating residential, industrial, and utility rooms. The heater consists of a base with a reflector installed on it, tubular electric heaters with anti-corrosion coating, and a casing with openings for air flow. The direction of air flow is adjusted using brackets.

The heaters are fixed on the ceiling or they can be installed on a wall not lower than 1.8 m from the floor; IR-radiation heats the floor, walls, and objects in the room, which, in their turn, give the heat off to the air.

Tubular electric heaters of 6.5 mm diameter

Tubular electric heaters having the diameter of 6.5 mm are a standard element of energy-efficient European devices. Even most famous manufacturers of tubular electric heaters from Russia and CIS states do not have facilities for mass production of tubular electric heaters of this diameter. The minimum available diameter of production of these manufacturers is 7.4 or 8 mm.

6.5 mm tubular electric heaters allow decreasing metal consumption and minimizing the amounts of electric heating powder – periclase. At that, the flexibility of TEHs increases allowing making electric heaters of most sophisticated configuration with less technical efforts.

Most often, 6.5-mm TEHs are used in heatproof oven cases, but can also be used in other electric devices. For instance, Delsot company uses them for completing above household heat fans TURBO and water heaters “For a country house”.

Specialties from Carel

Carel company presents a series of valves and drives for automated system EXV sistema used for controlling cooling units having power from 1 to 2000 kW. Drivers for controllers of EVD Evolution now have new functions including the new version of TWIN function that makes it possible to control two valves using one 4 DIN standard module. This is a very efficient and compact solution for overheating control in double-circuit units. Among other improvements of the driver are: overheating control algorithm for units with Digital Scroll® compressors, auto-tuning, and accumulator module with minimum charge alarm.

Like previous series of drivers for EVD Evolution, the new driver has graphical display for simple and efficient controlling evaporator’s parameters. The new driver is used in modern stand-alone cooling units with in-built compressor as well as in complex solutions using CAREL controllers of pCO series for chillers and precision air-conditioning systems.

Besides that, Carel offers its first combined solution for electronic control of heat pumps and air temperature in the room.

The system can be used for controlling “water – water” and “air – water” units, operation in heating and cooling modes, water heating for household needs. It provides the integration with heating systems and boilers and allows calculating the efficiency of “heat pump – boiler” combination. The system uses electronic TEV, the compressor is controlled using frequency converter.

Carel’s solution based on Modbus® centralization protocol makes it possible to integrate the household hot water supply control with solar water heaters and can control up to six rooms with two calendar modes as well as control humidifying, drying, and air inflow functions.

The model range of electronic TEVs by Carel was supplemented by a new standard size: E7V. The design of the valve is based on the previous model, E6V, however, E7V can control a unit having cooling capacity of up to 1750 kW, which makes it the most powerful TVE at the market.

Besides that, Carel company introduced a new version of ExV Selection, a program for selecting TEV. The main difference is the inclusion of E7V TEV and support of two new languages – Russian and Chinese.

New air-conditioner: LG Maestro Inverter

LG Electronics company announces on the start of delivery to Russia of the innovative inverter air-conditioning system Maestro Inverter which has already been tested at European market.

To provide comfortable air temperature, LG’s Maestro Inverter uses optimized bidirectional air flow. In the process of cooling, the louvers direct air flow upwards thus ensuring large coverage. On the other hand, when heated, air is directed downwards in order to provide comfortable and balanced temperature in the room.

New chillers and heat pumps by Ferroli

Tadel company presents to the Russian market new equipment by Ferroli company which finished in 2009 the transition of its chillers to the use of R410A coolant. At Climate World-2010 Expo, Tadel will demonstrate new chillers and heat pumps Ferroli RGA 50-200 (53 – 198 kW), RGC 50 – 200 (with centrifugal fans for indoor installation) as well as compression-condensation units RGA VMB 50 – 200 (with axial fans) and RGC VMB 50 – 200 (with centrifugal fans).

Compression-condensation units by Ferroli can be delivered in heat pump version with a standard plate evaporator and liquid circuit fittings (TEV, solenoid valve, and dryer filter) which actually makes those chillers with a remote evaporator. And this is a new class of equipment, which operation does not require filling the system with ethylene-glycol solution.

Chillers can be completed with in-built hydraulic module with one or two water pumps and accumulator tank of up to 460 l. There also is a special version for heat medium cooling down to minus 8°C, low-noise and extra low-noise version.

Besides, even now new models RLA 160-420 (155 – 401 kW) and RHA 350-630 (351 – 652 kW) with high-power R410A scroll compressors can be ordered. The new chillers are not only more compact and efficient but also less expensive than the old models.

IR-imagers testo combine 120x160 matrix, wide-angle (32°) lens, frame update rate 9 Hz (33 Hz on demand), high sensitivity ( < mK for testo 875 and < 50 mK for testo 881), changeable telephoto lens, and automatic hot/cold spot recognition. By manually entering temperature, humidity, and dew point values for a premise, it is possible to visualize the areas with high risk of mold formation. The in-built digital cameras (2 for testo 875 and 1/881-3 for testo 881) allows quick and easy studying of objects with application of a visible-light image to each IR-image. Two sensors allow fast and precise measuring of high and low pressure, while boiling and condensation temperatures are calculated automatically. Testo 550 is equipped with strong two-way block valve with three sockets. Extra strong casing provides shock protection. During measuring, the manifold is fixed securely using the sling hook. The display with backlight allows controlling measured values in any situation – even when lighting in the premise is insufficient.
