Opinions of the participants of «Climate World – 2010»

Jerom A. Bonomm, Director for Export to CIS states and Japan, Director of Aereco’s Representative Office in the Russian Federation

I liked the exhibition because it takes place at the time of year when the season has not started yet, but is already coming. I also like that this event attracts the attention of people from all over Russia, including province. As to this year’s exhibition in particular – the location of the exhibition in the center of the city is more convenient than before. We are quite satisfied with our stand, the visitor flow increased a little. However, the crisis influence is obvious. The people are concentrated to a larger extent on their own problems and to the lesser extent – on the issues of executing contracts with producers of new technologies. On the other hand, there occurs some kind of natural selection. In fact, more interested, more goal-oriented visitors come to the exhibition in general and to our stand in particular.

Andrei Bruk, Director of CAREL’s representative office in Russia and CIS states

The exhibition demonstrated that the Russian HVAC&R industry is in good shape, and many companies are steadily coming out of the past year’s depression. Since Carel company is represented at both market of refrigeration and market of HVAC automatics, we see the previously existed borderline between “refregerationists” and “ventilationists” fading away and may companies starting working in the adjacent fields.

Another clear trend was, in our opinion, the significant decrease in the number of “purely” distribution companies. Most of them start having own production departments working on making items from “distributor” equipment.

Generally speaking, the exhibition made positive impression, and Carel company plans to participate in this event in future.

Maria Vasilyeva, Ciat company’s Sales Department manager

Judging by my experience, there are less people than before. Main suppliers are not present at the exhibition. There is a lot of Chinese household equipment, split-systems at the exhibition. We made our stand specially for our clients, dealers we work with, and, in general, we are satisfied with the results – all our clients and dealers visited our stand. As to the organization – the separation into two halls is of some inconvenience. The most active is the first pavilion, while it is calmer in ours.

Mark Bruno, President of Les Trovac Industries company

First impression is very positive. Well-established HVAC companies are represented at the exhibition. The level of the exhibition is very high, of international level. In general, all HVAC exhibitions are in fact quite similar to some degree; when I close my eyes, it’s hard for me to understand what country I’m in. I’m satisfied with the interest to the centralized vacuum cleaners, all the more so that for our partner, represented by Director of OOO “OKNA ROSTA”, Olga Lopatina, it’s not the first year of working with centralized vacuum cleaners. Our partners are promoting our CYCLOVAC trade mark at the exhibition very well. It is important that we are represented at this exhibition together with HVAC companies. They start working in the buildings under construction at the same stage of construction as we do, so the fact that we are together is very important.

Stanislav Deshuk, leading specialist of LESSAR trademark

As to my opinion, there are positive tendencies: both exhibitors and visitors are interested in showing themselves. This year we have not had our own stand at the exhibition, our participation was within the framework of the business program; however, next year we will probably also have our own stand. However, the split into two pavilions is not the best thing ever happened.

Alexander Kuznetsov, Director of Sanyo’s Representative Office in Russia

I think that the exhibition is even better than last year’s: it has always been well-organized, while the foot traffic is probably even larger, there are more visitors showing interest to our equipment. Since the crisis broke out, outsiders fell off, and mainly professionals have remained. This year, there have arrived many visitors from province. It looks like people are bored with the crisis, they are trying to consider some future objects which are planned somewhere.

Yuri Akimovich Tarasenko, Head of “Buildings Energy Efficiency” department at Siemens company

“Buildings Energy Efficiency” department of Siemens manufactures appliances and automation systems for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. At the exhibition, process equipment for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning is mainly represented. It can be said that the companies represented here are our prospective customers. Not too many companies selling automation systems are represented here. Our products are in great demand and we have something to show.

Sergei Vladimirovich Ivanov, General Director of TopClimat.ru HVAC equipment portal

The impressions from the exhibition are various; however, one thing can be said for sure – the most significant event in HVAC industry of Russia was a success. Of course, this exhibition has been different from three previous ones that we participated in; the only thing that has not changed is the quality of its organization and the attention of the market participants to this event.

Ilya Eugenievich Sapozhnikov, Department Head of “Akvatoria Tepla” company

In general, the exhibition was quite active considering the situation existing at the market. There have been fewer manufacturing companies which, it seems, do not need to participate in such events and put more efforts in promotion using other means. But we have taken part in this exhibition for the first time, so, our participation is very positive for us. Any crisis means new opportunities, and this is exactly the way we see the current situation; we steadfastly and steadily striving for getting at this market.

Alexander Goryachev, Director of Advertising and PR Department of “Japanese Air Conditioners Association”

I liked the business programme, and I was really impressed by the round table organized by NP “ABOK”, with the live web translation. I think, that this technology has great potential – training seminars, presentations of new equipment among dealership network employees. This technology has a great future! I took this on board and I will introduce this technology in training programs for dealership networks of the holding.

Alexei Nikolayevich Yevdokimov, Marketing Director of “Belaya Gvardia (White Guards)” TH

In general about the exhibition – it’s cool that it exists. The exhibition has become smaller, however, there are objective reasons for that – the year of 2009 was a very complicated one. Due to different reasons, may large market players are absent, but there appeared new small companies. Those who attended the exhibition are likely to gain an additional opportunity of increasing their market share. We are satisfied with the number of visitors at our stand and event think of increasing the area for our stand next year.

Fyodor Igorevich Andronov, Technical Director of “Veza” company

My impression is like C plus grade. Nobody reached us during the whole first day. And I don’t think that this was due to the celebration of the 8th of March... There is a law – no events on Mondays and Fridays. After the 8th of March, the city was empty for 2 days. There is a simple measure – handouts; usually we give away them by hundreds and thousands. This year, during the first day we gave away practically none, on the second day – 700 pieces, on the third day – hardly 150 pieces. Last year was 2 times better judging by the activity of people, judging by handouts – for sure. No new companies appear, no new installers, no new designers. People leave installation business, design teams shrink, the number of objects for design is not increasing; that is, no new assortment, it even shrinks.

Andrei Alexandrovich Gladyshev, Director of Dealer Department of Ventcor company

As compared to the previous crisis year, the number of participants, major players has decreased; however, I’ve to the impression that the number of visitors remained the same, so the share of our visitors even increased, I can say. The qualitative outcome of the exhibition outcome is hard to determine: most people are examining, searching for less expensive alternatives to the standard types of equipment, so the companies offering something new have a priority here.

Pavel Bursa, General Director of Vertex company

Last year we did not participate in the exhibition, so I can only compare with the year before last. The scale has changed. The crisis affects everyone and many companies that usually participated, skipped this exhibition. Nevertheless, those who did participate, presented their equipment very well, however, without any chick. Many took this as business, acted pragmatically; even if we take the stands of larger companies, we see banners, we see white walls, nobody is wasting his money. Along with that, the exhibition gives quite a charge. You communicate with everybody, our dealers and partners came up, had a talk, expressed their confidence in future cooperation – of course, this gives you some emotional power.

Alexander Ivanovich Baranov, Commercial Director of “Vings-M”

In general, this exhibition is very important to us, we have great expectations for this year which turned out, as usual, a very specific one due to the financial crisis. However, the number of contacts that we had at this exhibition, turned out larger than the average even when compared to the years that were, so to say, normal for our country. While the average number of contacts in previous years was about 800, during this exhibition it exceeded 1000. I think, this is due to our contractors’ starting searching for their suppliers. We noted some contractors that were previously dealing with other companies manufacturing products similar to our in the segment of fire-safety valves.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Kuleshov, Head of Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Systems Department of Gepard company

Our expectations have been answered. The first day of the exhibition was accelerating one; on the second day we has rather large inflow of customers. We managed to get our customer interested. Our main customers are installation organizations; they were interested in the tools, consumables, and accessories presented by us.

Mikhail Beizman Iosifovich, Marketing and Advertisement Department head at ZAO “EUROCLIMATE”

The exhibition has been a little smaller than last year, but the number of visitors remained about the same. And I’m sure that everybody interested in our equipment will be able to communicate with us. We take active part in the exhibition and this will surely strengthen the position of our brand at the market.

Ilya Samuilovich Berezovich, Deputy General Director for Marketing and Sales of “INNOVENT” company

The exhibition is good; representatives of both manufacturers and sellers are quite numerous. Good organization. People come, people show interest in equipment, receive information, clarifications. Of course, we would like to see more people, but, anyway, we have what we’ve got. We participate in Climate World for the first time. In general, considering the current situation, the outcome is rather acceptable, we are not disappointed.

Leonid Fyodorovich Kiryakov, head of "Inrost”, “Nimal” companies and of General Climate company – an official sponsor of “Climate World-2010" exhibition

The exhibition is going well, we have already learned to organize exhibitions. Although, we would like to see more visitors...

We like and respect the exhibitions; I think, that it is the most important event of a year, and we intend to be the sponsor of the exhibition next year.

Olga Kambalina, Deputy Director of KORF Sales Department

I like that the exhibition was rather well-organized, we had no problems participating. I like our stand very much. We had a significant flow of visitors, and we can see already that the exhibitions pays back. The only thing that could be better is meals for participants.

Yuri Viktorovich Polyanski, Director for Development of Kupol RDE

I believe that the exhibition goes well. Main manufacturers and sellers participated, so it’s hard to say, that we’ve missed somebody. Last time we took part in the exhibition 2 year ago, in 2008 – they say, the exhibition has become smaller. But it answered my expectation. I hope that I will be able to convince the senior staff to participate in “Climate World” exhibition next year. At least for the sake of reminding about ourselves, to present ourselves to new customers, to see representatives of other companies. This also is a source of new contacts.

Mikhail Borisovich Gladkikh, a guest of Climate World-2010 Expo, Director of NEO Engineering company (Tomsk city)

We come to Climate World Expo for the third time already. At Crocus everything was more decent, however, it’s easier to get here. Of course, the influence of the crisis is evident. The exhibition collapsed, many do not participate. On the other hand, something absent before occurs now. We came to see one thing, but we actually see something completely different. For example, we were very interested in a system of heat-insulated air ducts. Here we found a company with the equipment for making those here, in Moscow. I think, that we will try to do the same in our city.

Ilya Anatolievich Lukashev, General Director of Olil company

This year, the exhibition is much more successful for us than in previous years. This is may be due to the widening of our range of products or due to the alliance with Mattex exhibition. People from Mattex come to us and they ask questions not about HVAC but more about water supply. Our stand is larger than last year and we are very happy with the outcome. I hope that this investment will bring good return.

Anna Igorevna Suyevalova, Director for Marketing at Prime Climate company

I like that there is a lot of industry-specific information, great amount of new literature. Despite the crisis we are quite optimistic about the situation at the market. At the exhibition, professionals are working who have not lost their interest in the exhibition. I liked the design of most of the stands.

Igor Sergeevich Novikov, Sales Department head of Rozenberg company

In my opinion, this exhibition was very successful for our company. It’s different from the past year’s: there were very many people at this exhibition, very many designers specializing in commercial ventilation. What I think best moment of this exhibition is that there are no our competitors having the ventilation equipment similar to ours in their product range. I see more Russian players and fewer – European.

Sergei Ozerov, Deputy Commercial Director for Marketing of ROLS ISOMARKET company

Unfortunately, this year’s exhibition was located in two pavilions and that, sorry to say, was not best for the convenience of the visitors. However, Climate World is an important event for us and I hope that next year the exhibition will be located in one place.

Marina Cardenas-Vallin, manager for working with design organizations at Sigma-Vent company

Climate World is the exhibition which is traditionally success among people interested in ventilation: those, who come out to the market, may be, those leaving the market (this is an unavoidable process), so it always has high attendance rate. The community of the people present at the exhibition as visitors, changed. There were a lot of partners and competitors at our stand, however, there were less people that are involved directly in equipment purchases, not sales, as well as representatives of installation companies.

Boris Nikolayevich Vlasenko, Sales Director at “Teplomash” company

Climate World is the largest HVAC exhibition we participate in. At the exhibition, there is good business-like, working atmosphere. The main change as compared to the previous year is that the exhibition returned to Krasnaya Presnya. I think, that it was only advantageous for the exhibition in terms of visitors’ flow. Our day was very productive in terms of the number of visitors.

Albert Kirillov, member of the Board of Directors of Thermocool company

The exhibition makes a positive impression, the contacts are very interesting. There is a feeling that the market is comes to life; we had meetings with end-users and designers as well, so the participation in the exhibition was useful. The number of contacts at this Climate World is like that the last year before the crisis. We value our participation positively.

Anatoliy Sergeevich Polyakov, Marketing Director of Tehnoklimat company

We have a positive impression from Climate World-2010. Unfortunately, the first day was not very successful – I think that this is due to celebration of the 8th of March: many people were celebrating, it was quite calm in the first half of the day; however, the second day returned this in full. In general, I can say, that the exhibition proved for another time to be interesting for the regional representatives, regional customers, and dealers. This is due to the fact that the Russian market has not been saturate yet, there is a great reserve of growth. There were a lot of representatives of PRC which are actively looking for new contacts. On one hand, it’s good, on the other – it’s a little worrying – price dumping is starting.

Sergei Vasilievich Nikolayev, Commercial Director of Electrotest company

We’ve know this place for a long time – we were at Climate World Expo when it was here. We observe live interest in our products. People come, query; the crisis has special effect – people are searching for complete solutions, that is, they gradually coming away from import since it’s rather hard to work with it; people want everything to be reliable, pretty, and affordable.

We would like to thank web-portal TopClimat.ru – a partner of Climate World 2010 exhibition for the materials provided.
